...appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. (Titus 1.5-9)

In accordance with the practice of the early church, we are led by a group of church elders who contribute a range of skills and mature Christian experience to ensure that the Christiania Church is guided by Biblical principles. John Andersen heads the leadership team.

Together with John, the following people support John on theological and administrative issues:

Jan Nordmand Andersen

Jan joined the Christiania Church in 2018, after having planted and co-pastored a church near Copenhagen, Denmark, for 15 years. He leads the worship at the Christiania Church, and composes songs of praise.

Phil Clarke

Phil comes from a long background in the Anglican Church, where he has been a Bible teacher for 7 years. He joined the Christiania Church in 2010.

Anette Wulff Andersen

Anette is an ordained pastor with the Seventh Day Adventist Church. After leading a church in Roskilde, Denmark, she now works as an evangelist at a Seventh Day Adventist shop and cafe in Copenhagen.

We are in broad agreement on most aspects of our Christian faith and theology, but there is space for some difference in opinions, which we openly discuss.

Note that John, Jan, and Anette are not related - Andersen is a common surname in Denmark!
