The words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. (Psalm 12:6)

We believe that the Bible contains the living words of Almighty God Yahweh, and we strive to abide by these as best we can, and to let these guide our lives with the support of the Holy Spirit. Given the extent and depth of God’s revelation through the Bible, we will not try to create our own words to summarise our beliefs, but instead present here some of the keys areas where we are united with or differ from other Christian churches:

Baptism

Repentant believers who wish to be baptised are fully immersed; usually in the sea!

The gifts of the Holy Spirit

Most of us believe that the Holy Spirit still grants the gifts that are listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-10, and we encourage the exercise of these gifts.

Signs and wonders

We hold a range of views regarding the recent outpourings of the Holy Spirit, and the supernatural ‘signs and wonders’ that have accompanied them. Whilst we all recognise this move of God, some of us are concerned that evil counterfeit spirits have also operated during these revivals and manifested as false signs and wonders.

All of us look forward to an imminent revival that will be characterised by the true repentance of sinners as they recognise and turn to Our Lord Jesus Christ as their saviour.

Morality

We consider God’s laws on morality to be eternally applicable, despite the differing views of the society in which we live. We are nonetheless also aware of our own shortcomings and recognise that we too sometimes rebel against God’s statutes, and are in equal need of His great mercy as everybody else. Therefore, we as a church are prepared to pronounce God’s words against sin, but refrain from judging sinners, as our task as a church is to assist sinners to be reconciled with God.

We do however expect our church members to abide by the minimum standards outlined by God for His people as set out in the 10 Commandments in Exodus 20, and by Paul for new believers:  It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality (Acts 15: 28-29).

Health and wealth

We are thankful for the many blessings given to us by God, yet we believe that we are created by God to be disciples of Jesus/Yashua with the purpose of spreading the good news of God’s offer of salvation through accepting Christ’s crucifixion, rather than being created to primarily be recipients of God’s blessings.

Some of us live by faith without the ease of abundant or regular income; many of us have known periods of financial hardship but have also as a result experienced God’s miraculous provision.

Most of us believe that supernatural healing is possible through the power of the Holy Spirit, as well as through human agency (i.e. modern medicine) and the body’s God-given ability to heal itself. Yet we also recognise that God remains sovereign and that He may deny healing in accordance with His perfect will.

Israel

We believe that the nation of Israel was founded in 1948 in accordance with God’s great purpose as prophesied in the Bible, to be a sign to the nations that He faithfully keeps His promises to His people. A number of us visit Israel every year.

End times

We believe that Jesus will return soon (perhaps within a generation, i.e. 40 years) to initiate His millennial reign, and that this event will follow a period of intense persecution of true Christians that will cause many to renounce their faith. We aim to prepare ourselves for this, and to warn others about it.
